Tuolumne County Supervisor Jerry Bellah fought hard to dam the Tuolumne River, but he lost in the end, due to the many lessons learned from the Stanislaus River struggle. This article was written a month after the September 1984 decision to make the Tuolumne River Wild & Scenic.
