ARTA trip – guides at takeout

Classic view of 1971-vintage river guides (women were just starting later that year, and then many more in following years). Back then, ragged cutoff jeans were the only choice for river pants, and it was de rigueur to have a Sierra Club cup slipped onto your belt, along with a Buck knife. For ARTA, all the hard gear was painted a special “ARTA green”.
