Wilderness Waterways basket boat on the river, with fishing pole

It was rare that people caught fish on the Stanislaus River, but someone on this Wilderness Waterways (Bryce Whitmore’s company, later Sierra Mac River Trips) trip has high hopes – see the pole sticking up. Even through rapids (below is Widowmaker), he’s got his gear ready!  Note the rowing frame being used on the basket boat – it was always a struggle to find the right frame design for these boats.
