Camp Nine put in – getting ready for a trip in 1965
Description:
A Wilderness Waterways trip gets ready to go down the Stanislaus River in 1965 – they would likely have been the only boats on the river (ARTA had just started trips that year, the only other company rafting the river commercially then; few private rafters at the time). This is could have been a trip that resulted from the May 1965 Sunset Magazine article by Martin Litton that had such a strong impact on peoples’ interest in running the river.
