Description:

NOTE: Once this opens, be sure to set your YouTube resolution (the gear/settings icon) to the highest quality (varies by device), otherwise video may seem blurry!

This short movie takes you down all of the main places, rapids and camps along the Stanislaus River – from Camp Nine to Parrott’s Ferry to Robinson’s Ferry/Melones.  These images show the river as it was before being  needlessly flooded in 1983 by New Melones Dam. They are the most iconic of the Stanislaus Archive’s thousands of photos of the river, all set to evocative music. The video does not cover the campaigns to save the river – it just shows the incredible beauty of the places along the 17 mile length of the Stanislaus River.

A booklet version of this in PDF format is also available.
