Kayaker Dick Schwind on the lower Stanislaus River in 1968

Location: Horseshoe Bend
Status: Live River
By: Chris Condon
Date: June 5, 1968
Description:

Dick Schwind was a pioneer kayaker and the author of the first major guide to kayaking West Coast rivers. This photo is from a 1968 trip, likely one that started at Camp Nine and continued all the way down to Melones/Robinson’s Ferry – several kayakers joined, including Chris Condon, who photographed.  Horseshoe Bend location is best guess.
