Kayaks ready at Camp Nine put in

Location: Camp 9 Put-in
Status: Live River
By: Paul Begovac
Date: April 18, 1981
Description:

The kayaks of Paul Begovac and Scott Imsland sit ready for their April 1981 trip down the river, as the New Melones reservoir was flooding up past the Parrott’s Ferry bridge. These are the second-generation Hollowform kayaks (the first used yellow plastic), which revolutionized kayaking by molding hard plastic instead of using the much more vulnerable fiberglass that had been traditional for many years.
