Sierra Mac guides at camp, 1972

Newly-minted outfitter (Sierra Mac River Trips) Marty McDonnell (far left) with his core guide crew, at his usual camp, with “Bryce’s Island” behind them. Marty took over Wilderness Waterways from river pioneer Bryce Whitmore before the 1972 rafting season, starting a run of over 50 years with his company that continues to this day.
