Voice of a River – Mark and Clare Dubois (2019 interview transcript pamphlet – PDF 14mb)
In 2019, when Mark Dubois was seeking media coverage of several seminal Stanislaus River campaign events (50th anniversary of the federal Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, 45th of Proposition 17, etc. ), his wife, Clare Dubois (founder of Treesisters.org), spun into action and conducted a Facebook Live interview with him about his relationship with the river and what it taught him. This pamphlet is a transcription of the hour long interview – the full audio of the interview is here. In addition, a very talented film maker produced an outstanding 11 minute video for Earth Day 2021, using sections of this interview as well as new video and many images from the Stanislaus River Archive. Together these three products (this pamphlet and the accompanying interview audio, and the movie) help place the significance of the Stanislaus River and the campaigns to save it in new and moving light.
